The 12th Man is a venture led by fans of Oxford United to create a ring fenced transfer fund to be used to sign players, pay wages and bring in emergency loan signings. Through various fund raising initiatives, the 12th Man has already raised over £50,000.

Latest News from the fund:

Flag bearer bookings

After a lull in bookings for the flag bearer package, 8 out of the next 10 matches are now booked and the number of opportunities in the coming weeks is limited, with only Newport on 26 November and Scunthorpe on 29 December remaining in 2013.

See the flag bearers page for more details and contact Paul Ridgley on to book or enquire, or talk to us in the 12th Man Bar.

This season the flag bearer receives a framed certificate signed by Ian Lenagan and Chris Wilder, to commemorate the occasion, which is presented to them in the 12th Man Bar by  the Man of the Match after the game.

Golden goal draw

The 12th Man Golden Goal draw is now held at each home match.

Tickets are sold in the 12th Man Bar for £1, each ticket has the time for the first goal in minutes (whetehr cored by OUFC or the opposition), and the winning ticket wins £50 which can be claimed after the match in the Bar.

The ticket bearing ’45 minutes’ covers extra time in the first half, and the ticket bearing ’90 minutes’ all the extra time at the end of the match. There is a ’0-0′ ticket to cover all eventualities.

Listen out for the PA announcement of the time of the first goal – the time taken for the winner will be the time announced in the stadium.

We would like to congratulate Theresa Davey for winning the draw against Northampton. The winner against Southend, on 13 minutes, has still not come forward, so if it’s you, please bring the ticket and make yourselves known to us at the table inside the Bar.

12th Man Bar opens for Bury Match

The 12th Man Supporters Bar will open its doors for the first time against Bury on Saturday.

For full story see the OUFC website article here:

It can now be confirmed that entry to the Bar will be free for season ticket holders and non-season ticket holders can enter in return for a £1 donation to the 12th Man Fund. Re-entry after the match will be free on presentation of a ticket purchased pre-match. We will be staffing the door and we will offer an option of £20 for a season pass to non-season ticket holders.

The first guest will be Colin Harrington who played for the club in the 1960s and early 1970s. Each match will feature a legend and there will be a Q&A after which the guest will meet fans in the bar.

New food and drink options and OUFC decoration to the bar with photos and memorabilia will create a special environment. Big screen TV will show OUFC content, match highlights etc. Bar serveries will be upgraded to speed service.

12th man, Yellow Army, and programme stalls will all be in the bar, and the Man of the Match presentation will be in the bar, which will open at 12.00 and close by 6.30.

Following the collection at Portsmouth which raised over £1300 for Dave Langan to boost the £3k already raised following OxVox’s initiation of the appeal, the appeal is now just £500 short of the target and a final collection in and around the bar on Saturday will see that figure surpassed.

The 12th Man group and Joe and his team have worked with OxVox and the club on this and we all hope that what the club has delivered with our help will be to fans’ liking. The revenue share issue is of course an important one and we believe that it will be resolved soon. It has been a collective effort to produce a decent environment and a new option pre- and post-match.

12th Man is managing ticketing and we are pleased that the club has responded positively to the request to create an option for non-season ticket holders to use the bar for a nominal amount, which will go towards the £20k YA target via the 12th Man fund. We will be taking comments from users of the bar informally and after a few games via a survey; we want to make the bar the best it can be.
